Hair Grips

I'm currently getting ready to go out thought I would do a super quick post showing you these cute hair grips that I'm using. They are velcro hair grip sort of things and they are pretty nifty. I picked them up at my local Asian beauty store (which I love!) for not much money and they are coming in handy.

The idea is that they keep your hair out of your face whilst you do your makeup without ruining your hair or leaving any kinks in your hair which other types of clips/bobby pins leave. As they are so lightweight they don't really press on your hair and leave it looking fine after your makeup. So far they have done the job, I wouldn't mind if they had a tiny bit more grip but it's not big deal.

Something's Fishy

 

I keep seeing fish tail plaits popping up everywhere lately so here is my novice attempt. When I was a junior in High School I did them every so often but had not attempted one for years until today. Hair is not really my domain so I think I need lots more practice to perfect it, it just looks like I'm going for the "messy look" when in reality I am hopeless at doing my hair!

 I think a fish tail plait may come in very handy for bad hair days, which for me is often!

What do you think?

 

Hair-spiration

I am getting my hair cut and coloured tomorrow woohoo. About time, it's long overdue. At the moment my hair is a fairly plain medium brown colour.  It has a bit of a natural wave and is reasonably long going past my shoulders, just so you know. 

At this stage for the colour (although my mind changes very quickly) i am leaning towards getting balayage done to have this effect. I really like the look but was curious as to your opinions. Here are some of my favourite snaps.

Saturday Saturday!

Here is a peek at what my night will entail

Rather than doing anything exciting on a Saturday night this is what I plan to do and I am actually really looking forward to it!. I've had the Rae Morris book for ages but i have never really sat down and read it properly so tonight is the night, she is amazing. I also have to start thinking about applying for graduate jobs eeek. Might also paint my nails, dye my hair, play Super Mario Bros (geeky I know!) and fulfill my marshmallow craving. Should be fun.

Oh Lady Gaga

So I was sitting around tonight lamenting the fact that I missed out on Lady Gaga tickets and there is no way I am going to pay $500 for 2 on eBay. It’s not that I’m a crazy Gaga fan, I don’t even like her THAT much I just think it would fun.




Therefore with Lady Gaga on my mind I decided I would give the whole hair bow a shot. I watched this tutorial on youtube ages so i used it as a guide but mainly just did my own thing. If anyone is feeling particularly adventurous or just bored check it out here. I think if I did ever want to wear one outside the house (which I cannot imagine happening anytime soon) I would just buy one.


Anyway here is my shonky attempt. Unfortunately my hair is too short for it to be amazing oh that and the fact I am hopeless at doing hair but I amused myself nonetheless!
