Blush Crush: NYX Mauve

Hello lovely readers,

I'm back with another blush crush. This time it's NYX's Mauve. The weather has taken a turn for the worst lately and I haven't really been feeling like peaches of pinks so I thought I would whip out this one to mix it up a bit.

Mauve is a muted rosy pink blush. I do find the name a little deceiving as the blush is more of a muted pink with almost a hint of orange (on my skin anyway) regardless I am liking this blush. I am still on the hunt for a great mauvey toned blush so let me know if you have any suggestions.

The texture is smooth, silky and really blendable. It's easy to apply and very pigmented, as you can see in the pic below where I have packed it on! However this blush does lack staying power but for the price I really can't complain too much.

(Excuse the messy hair, this is it in all its natural glory haha)

It is a nice, rosy, natural looking blush.  This blush is definitely great for fair to medium skinned gals but be careful to use a light hand!

I would love to know what people's favourite winter blushes are, I think I feel a shopping spree coming on!

Small NYX Haul

Hi everyone,

Soooo happy about this little haul. The other day I stumbled across a shop selling NYX cosmetics which is amazing as NYX is pretty much unavailable in Australia. Groove Cosmetics is where I picked these things up and they are the only other shop I've ever seen selling NYX cosmetics apart from Charcoal Clothing. I only picked up  few things this trip but don't worry I am definitely going back on pay day!

Here is what I got; Eyeshadow in Luxor, Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Smokey Look, Powder blush in Peach and Powder blush in Mauve.

Peach blush

Mauve Blush

Luxor eyeshadow

Smokey Look gloss

Left to right: Peach blush, Mauve blush, Luxor eyeshadow & Smokey Look gloss

Loving the products so far, especially Smokey Look. Can't wait to have a proper play around with them!

Anyway one of the reasons I didn't go crazy and buy everything is because I wanted to get your recommendations first. I have my eye on lots of things but would love your suggestions!

Thanks :)

Colour crafted dupe?

I missed out on MAC colour crafted lipstick as i was on holidays in Samoa at the time (no lipstick in sight!) and ever since i have wanted to get my hands on one. I came across this on Laura's (lollipop26) blog in my search for a dupe. She said that NYX Acapulco was pretty much a dupe for colour crafted, so i ordered one!

The lipstick is okay but i haven't been overly impressed. It's from the black label range so it comes in a cute little black container with a lace pattern printed on it. It also has a clear section in the bottom to see the colour which is handy when trying to find the item in your makeup bag. It smells exactly like grape hubba bubba bubble gum which i love but is a bit of a weird smell for a lippy - it's like being 8 again!

The colour is great, it's a sweet sort of girly pink. It has great pigmentation for a cheapy lipstick and can be worn sheerly or packed on for a brighter colour.

Acapulco applies easily and smoothly but my one major gripe is that it does not last. The texture is so creamy that it will not stay put! This means it is not drying which is great as i suffer from really dry lips but that's useless if it doesn't last.

I will not be repurchasing this lipstick and will probably not use it that often as I can be really lazy at touching up :)

So the search continues for the perfect pink! Anyone have any suggestions?
